Abstract:'We will demonstrate, drawing on recently released documents, correspondence, interviews, and McGraw's memoirs, why Dewey's personal involvement in and collaboration with McGraw and other participants in her Normal Child Development Study at Columbia University during the 1930s not only provided the experimental techniques to ground his premises about development in available evidence but helped Dewey crystallize principles central to ["Logic: The theory of inquiry"].'
