Titolo:German-Soviet co-operation in science : the case of the Laboratory for racial research, 1931-1938 / Paul Weindling.
Abstract:Although contacts between German and Soviet eugenicists during the 1920s have been documented, it has been assumed that relations ceased by 1930. This article examines a hitherto undocumented Laboratory for German-Soviet Racial Research. It was initiated by German scientists at a time when Germany was endeavouring to open up economic and trading contacts with the Soviet Union. Research was primarily in the field of comparative pathology and brain anatomy. There was support from scientists in Moscow, the Caucasus and Transcaucasus. Diplomatic reasons account for the institute's survival
