Titolo:Amici et le principe de duplication d'image : le micromètre d'Amici / Danielle Fauque.
Abstract:Amici applied the principle of the duplicated image to some astronomical instruments. Among several inventions, he particularly built a new micrometer on the principle of the duplication of the image given by a telescope. He knew the invention of the divided object-glass micrometer by Dollond, the prismatic micrometer by Rochon and the divided eye-glass micrometer by Ramsden, but his own presented some differences which he precised in several publications. His micrometer may be applied to a refracting telescope with a very long focal length and was used for measuring the distance between double stars, therefore the glasses had to be of very good quality and came from Fraunhofer's manufacture. It would be interesting to reinsert the Amici's micrometer among the similar ones of this period. Doing this we could precise causes and consequences in the mind in wich the inceasing research to perfect measuring instruments, was an intellectual means of competition and favoured the development of a relative positivis
