Subsequently, other images of Galileo came to prevail (especially that of the martyr of science or of the founder of a rigorous experimentation without theories) that led to the fact being overlooked that, if the Dialogo generated such a scandal, it was precisely because it represented a great philosophical treatise on the world and on man |
