Galileismo e politica : il caso borelliano / Ugo Baldini.
Abstract:
This note discusses the political opinions of G. A. Borelli on the basis of previously published documents and established biographical information. The facts seem to justify the conclusion that in the minds of some Galileans the struggle for a new style of thinking was associated with attempts to modify the existing Italian political situation or with favorable viewings of such attempts. Borelli's projects concerning a means of underwater navigation are considered in connection with his political contacts with French agents in Rome
