| Abstract: | Many modem scholars record in a generic way sundials shaped as a medieval ship and describe the specimen belonging to the Museum of the History of Science of Oxford. Only a few deal with it at length. The scope of the present article is to gather information specifically on this type of rime keeper and to illustrate three other spicimens, little known, that are respectively in the Poldi Pezzoli Museum in Milan, in the Institute and Museum of the History of Science of Florence, and in the Whipple Museum of the History of Science at Cambridge |
